MMA’s advocacy team ensures the interests of Maine physicians are considered through every step of the federal legislative and regulatory process, including a yearly fly-in to build relationships with our federal delegates. We work alongside the American Medical Association (“AMA”) to ensure success at the federal level.

Legislative Advocacy
The MMA advocates for physicians and their patients throughout the federal legislative process. We build relationships with each of our four federal delegates to ensure that they are well educated on the issues facing their Maine physicians. This includes being available for meetings about specific bills and raising general concerns that our members are facing in their professions.
Regulatory Advocacy
MMA provides input to advocate for the development of health care rules and regulations that support the work of our physicians in providing care to their patients.
