Relevant Advocacy Committees

The MMA Advocacy Team works with the Legislative Committee and the Public Health Committee to shape our legislative and regulatory work. All are encouraged to join the committee meetings to share perspectives about the important issues our members and their patients are facing.

Legislative Committee

The Legislative Committee is a collaborative between the MMA and the Maine Osteopathic Association (MOA). It is open to all physicians and holds weekly zoom calls during the legislative session to review and finalize the MMA and MOA position on bills printed and to discuss the highlights of legislative action that week. Representatives of specialty societies are encouraged to participate. The agenda and zoom link are published each week in the e-newsletter.

Public Health Committee

The MMA’s Public Health Committee is dedicated to educating both the public and physicians on the importance of Maine’s public health infrastructure.
