The MMA is committed to ensuring access to high-quality, innovative educational opportunities for physicians and other clinicians. Through CME activities, accreditation of CME programs for Maine institutions, and partnerships with affiliate organizations, MMA offers an array of programming and resources. It is an MMA priority that Maine’s health care sector is continually learning to improve patient care and practice.

CME Events
Offering both live and asynchronous CME opportunities, the Hanley Center for Health Leadership and Education invites MMA members and non-members to view upcoming events.
CME Activity Approval Program
Through partnership with the Hanley Center for Health Leadership and Education, non-accredited eligible organizations in New England may apply for CME approval for their educational activities.
Maine Independent Clinical Information Service (MICIS)
MICIS provides independent, evidence-based prescribing information directly to Maine prescribers.
Leadership Training
The Hanley Center offers leadership development courses to health care leaders and emerging leaders, organizational and team strategic planning, consulting and team building, executive coaching, and an undergraduate internship program.
Accredited CME Provider Program
The MMA is authorized to grant accreditation for organizations interested in implementing a continuing medical education (CME) program in Maine.
Center for Quality Improvement (CQI) Learning Lab
The CQI Learning Lab serves as a readily accessible online platform, delivering enlightening and captivating educational materials. It is designed to assist health care providers, professionals, and teams in their pursuit of continuous learning and educational credits for professional development.
Suicide Prevention Training & Resources
The MMA works closely with NAMI Maine to provide educational opportunities and resources.
Medical Student Financial Aid
To help reduce the financial demands of medical school, low-interest loans, scholarships, and grants are available for students who intend to practice in Maine.
