Our History

The Shoulder and Elbow Society of India was founded in [Year] by a visionary group of orthopedic surgeons who recognized the need for a focused platform dedicated to upper limb surgery.

From a small gathering of specialists, SESI has grown into a nationally recognized subspecialty section under the Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA).

Over the years, SESI has:

  • Established training fellowships at leading hospitals
  • Built academic collaborations with international societies such as ASES, SECEC, and APOA Shoulder & Elbow Chapter


Governance

SESI functions as a registered professional society, operating under its Constitution and Bylaws.

  • General Body Meetings held annually during the national conference
  • Executive Committee meetings to plan academic and administrative activities
  • Transparent elections for office bearers every two years
  • Maintenance of records and reports in compliance with the Society's registration norms
